SAVANNAH/HILTON HEAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is conveniently located near Hilton Head on the South Carolina state line where almost half of the arrivals travel to Hilton Head Island. From the airport it's just a short ride of about 45 minutes to Palmetto Dunes. Delta, USAir, and AirTran have many daily flights to and from Savannah/Hilton Head.

THE HILTON HEAD AIRPORT is located on Hilton Head Island, only 10 minutes from the house, and is serviced direct by USAir. The smaller local airport serves general aviation with a 4300-foot runway.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: All Savannah flights are served by airport shuttles and limousines. Taxi service is available at the Hilton Head airport. All major car rental companies are on-site at both airports. DRIVING...

Please note that there are several different routes from I-95 to Hilton Head Island. However, the most direct routes are as follows:

FROM THE NORTH: Driving south on I-95, take the Hilton Head exit #8 (Hwy 278 East) in South Carolina. It is approximately 20 miles on Hwy 278 to Hilton Head Island.

FROM THE SOUTH: Driving north on I-95, take the Hilton Head exit #8 (Hwy 278 East) in South Carolina. It is approximately 20 miles on Hwy 278 to Hilton Head Island.

DIRECTIONS TO
THE HOUSE...

After entering Hilton Head Island follow route 278 east until you reach the first double left turn lanes leading into Palmetto Dunes. Immediately to the right is the Registration Lot. Register and pick up your keys. Follow the map to the Guards' Gate and then to the home at 4 Midstream, and enjoy.
