Many new courses in the
immediate Hilton Head area have opened in the past few
years, each having its own unique layout for your golfing
pleasure. The courses here have been designed by such
outstanding golf architects as George Fazio, Robert Trent
Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Rees Jones, to name just a
few.

There are three courses located
conveniently within the Palmetto Dunes Resort area: The Robert Trent
Jones course on the north side is an oceanfront classic. Wide open
fairways and ample greens make it an enjoyable test for all skill
levels. The first one built in Palmetto Dunes, this great course
offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
With a series of long par-4s, the George Fazio course on the south
side is both a demanding and exciting golf adventure. Once listed on
Golf Digest's "America's 100 Best," this course demands a combination
of long drives and precision play.
Palmetto Dunes' newest course, Arthur Hills, in the Leamington
section, is one of the area's most distinctive layouts. This course
is characterized by its continuous lines of dunes and thick stands of
palmettos. It has a unique seaside character with no rough and few
fairway bunkers, but water comes into play on ten of its holes, and
wind is a constant hazard in its own right.
