Whenever
we're looking for an enjoyable family activity, we find a
ride through the Sea Pines Nature Preserve to be both fun
and relaxing. Sometimes we spot an alligator basking in the
sun or maybe we see a huge spider web between two trees. When my
wife's sister brought her young son to Hilton Head, we got
some wonderful photographs of him riding the ponies. Kids
seem to get a big kick out of the animals and make horseback
riding one of their essential activities during our
vacations. |

The horses at Sea Pines are
of excellent quality and have had very good care. We often
see them lounging in the fields when we're on our way to
South Beach Marina or Harbour Town. We try to schedule a cooler time than in midsummer for horseback riding, although the preserve is well shaded and cool 'most any time. |
